Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan President Dr Hafeezur Rehman visited the Sutlej flood-hit Talwar Check Post area, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
He took a tour of the medical camp, food and fooder distribution points. The foundation has alerted its volunteers in view of the recent heavy rains and possible flood situation and readied rescue-related machinery.
Other office-bearers including Ikramul Haq Subhani, Shoaib Hashmi and Asif Jamal were also present. Dr Hafeezur Rehman also met the district administration and the officials of Rescue 1122.
He said in the wake of recent rains, the foundation has alerted its volunteer and Relief camps have been established in various places.
Ikramul Haq briefed him about the flood damage after the recent heavy rain spell. In Talwar checkpost area, from 20 to 22 villages have been affected leaving up to 6,000 people in trouble, he said.
The foundation established a relief camp at the Talwar checkpost, flood-hit people are being provided with prepared food and clean drinking water, he said adding that it set up a fodder-supplying point too. He also mentioned a medical camp where up to 500 get medicine daily.
