Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan on Monday congratulated the former defense minister Pervez Khattak for launching a new political party under the name of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Khattak, who served as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's secretary general and chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the Imran Khan-led PTI government was expelled from PTI last week over his statement against the party chief. In reaction, he announced his new political party.
Replying to a question asked by a media person during his presence in a court along with his wife on Monday, Imran Khan congratulated Khattak for forming a new party.
Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Patron-in-Chief Jahangir Tareen has also congratulated Pervez Khattak on forming a new political party.
Jahangir Tareen expressed best wishes for Pervez Khattak and his new political party. He said that politics is now changing in the country after May 9 incidents. Tareen said that patriot political leaders prioritized stability in the country and several political personalities are parting ways from the narrative of the May 9 riots.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Ali Amin Gandapur's reaction to Pervaiz Khattak's new party said that the people of KP will reject the group of unscrupulous people led by the leadership of Pervez Khattak.
“PTI will compete vigorously and win the election with the support of the people in the province,” he said, adding that the coming era belongs to Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Meanwhile, PTI former MPA Pir Musavir Khan Ghazi denied the news about leaving the party.
He said that he is a soldier of Imran Khan and not a part of Pervez Khattak's group.
“Imran Khan is our leader, we are with him in this difficult time,” he said adding that he should be included in Pervez Khattak’s group.
