British envoy’s Margalla tweet makes the difference

The British envoy in Pakistan has hailed the qualitative change at the Marhalla Hills as far as the cleanliness was concerned, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

About a month ago, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner had uploaded a tweet showing him carrying two bags full of trash in Margalla Hills National Park.

A month ago.

A month later, the British again uploaded a tweet carrying his photograph in which he was showing ZERO trash at the same spot in the National Park.

A month later.

Turner’s first tweet generated quite a reaction throughout Pakistan.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration had also swung into action and banned smoking, barbecues, setting garbage on fire or carrying flammable items such as matchsticks, lighters, charcoal and bottles of petrol or kerosene oil, prohibiting any activity or action that could cause forest fire in the Margalla Hills National Park.

According to the district government’s notification, violators may face jail term up to a month or fine under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 1898.
