Directing the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders to submit surety bonds of Rs0.1 million each, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday approved their bail applications in the case of vandalizing public property and beating up policemen on the day of party’s long march on Islamabad on May 25, until June 28, 2022, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butar heard the case.

Those whose bails were approved included Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Murad Raas, Shafqat Mehmood, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Musarrat Jamshed Cheema. Burhan Moazzam Malik Advocate had filed the petitions on behalf of these leaders against whom an FIR had been registered at Bhatti Gate police station.

Prior to that, PTI leaders had been granted bails in the cases registered at Gulberg and Shahdara police stations.

Later speaking to the media, Dr. Yasmin Rashid asked the government to keep booking her and other party leaders in one case or the other. “But we will keep securing bails from the courts,” she added.
