Papua New Guinea were bowled out for 78 by New Zealand in match No. 39 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.

PNG batters faced a tough challenge with their top order collapsing under the pressure of a formidable bowling attack.

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson stood out as he bowled four maidens in his spell while picking three wickets. He now holds the record for bowling the most economical spell in the T20 World Cup.

Apart from him, left-arm pacer Trent Boult took 2/14 while Tim Southee bagged 2/122. Ish Dodhi finished with 2/19 while Mitchell Santner claimed one wicket while conceding 17 runs.

Only three PNG batters crossed the double-figure mark. Charles Amini top scored with 25-ball 17 while Sese Bau made 12.

Norman Vanua provided crucial 13-ball 14 at the backend.
