Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was handed over to Lahore police on seven-day physical remand in a case related to ‘violent protests’ following party chairman Imran Khan’s arrest, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Thursday.
The former Punjab minister was presented before the Lahore ATC where the police sought his 20-day physical remand.
Investigation officer Inspector Sarwar while requesting a 20 days physical remand of the accused told the court that a two-day physical remand was granted, but the accused was admitted to the hospital and the investigation could not be conducted.
He said on the orders of the Lahore High Court, Mian Mahmood-ul-Rashid was examined by a medical board and was admitted to the hospital.
Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid is accused of attacking and firing at Jinnah House and a case has been registered against him in Sarwar Road police station.
According to FIR, Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid's firing a person was killed while many others got injured.
