Young Pakistani fast bowler Zaman Khan has departed for UK to join English county Derbyshire, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Derbyshire, once coached by Mickey Arthur who is also the director of Pakistan men's team, roped in the 21-year-old pacer, who is the find of two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champion franchise Lahore Qalandars, for this summer’s T20 Blast.
The right-arm pacer made his international debut for Pakistan against Afghanistan in March this year and has so far played in six T20Is while bowling at an impressive economy rate of 6.66.
Zaman Khan has won the PSL twice with Qalandars, in 2022 and 2023, while he also bagged the trophy in the last edition of the Lanka Premier League with Jaffna Kings.
Derbyshire Head of Cricket Arthur heaped praise on the talented young pacer. “Zaman Khan is one of the brightest young fast bowlers in Pakistan and he brings experience of T20 success around the world into our dressing room, which will help us to reach our own goals,” Arthur said.
“He recently made his debut in one of the best international white-ball attacks and looked right at home, so it’s incredibly exciting to welcome him for our T20 campaign,” he added.
