Shehbaz Sharif nominated PML-N acting president

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was on Saturday appointed the PML-N’s acting president at the party’s Central Working Committee meeting held at Model Town in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz and other PML-N leaders, including Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Rana Tanveer, Chaudhry Tanveer, Mian Javed Latif and Talal Chaudhry, were present at the huddle.
Earlier, senior party leaders presented the resolution, calling for making the prime minister the party’s acting president.
Shehbaz will remain the acting president until May 28, while on the same date the party’s General Council, in its meeting would nominate Nawaz Sharif for the post of president.
Meanwhile, the PML-N’s Central Working Committee also nominated the party’s stalwart and presently Adviser to PM on political affairs Rana Sanaullah for the seat of chief election commissioner.
