In a twist to the story of three persons, who were seriously burnt after the Guddu Thermal power plant in Kashmore, they were stealing electric wire from, reportedly caught fire on Monday, it has now emerged that these were the security personnel who had set them on fire, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources in the police told 24News TV channel that six security personnel caught the thieves namely Sattar Shar, Zahoor Malik and Ashiq Malik and later set them on fire due to which 80 per cent of their bodies were burnt.
When it dawned upon the Force that these were the security personnel who had torched the thieves, it took all six of them into custody and shifted them to an undisclosed location.
The sources informed that those arrested were Asghar Ali, Shaukat Hussain, Moinuddin, Muhammad Mithal, Abdul Majeed and Muhibullah, and were now being interrogated.
Earlier on Monday, 24News TV channel had reported that three persons were seriously injured after a fire erupted in a high transmission line at Guddu Thermal power station in Kashmore right at a time when they were busy stealing an electricity cable from there.
Sources in the WAPDA had told 24News TV channel that the thieves were trying to steal an electric wire of 11,000 KV when the wire caught fire, injuring them seriously.
The police initially shifted the injured to a taluqa hospital where the MS said that 80 per cent of their bodies had been completely burnt.
Later they were referred to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan due to the nature of their injuries.
