MQM-P MPA Rashid Khan’s membership suspended

Membership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM-P) member of the Sindh Assembly Rashid Khan’s was suspended by Sindh High Court’s Election Tribunal in Hyderabad on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rashid Khan was elected MPA from PS-64 constituency and his membership was suspended by the election tribunal until next week.
PPP candidate Mukhtiyar Aajiz Dhamra had filed an application against the victory of Rashid Khan from PS-64.
During proceedings, the election tribunal ordered suspension of Rashid Khan’s membership until next hearing.
During the last hearing, Rashid Khan was issued a notice through Sindh Assembly speaker for appearance in the court. Rashid Khan never appeared before the tribunal after the petition was filed against him.
SHC Hyderabad Circuit Bench’s Justice Amjad Sahtu heard the application. Dhamra’s lawyer told the tribunal that the MQM resorted to rigging in the election.
MQM-Pakistan’s activists attacked polling stations and harassed voters, the lawyer further said.
