PML-N MPA Sameera Komal has submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly against the increase in air pollution and smog in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The resolution stated that the air pollution and smog in Lahore has been rapidly increasing and the Punjab government did not take any significant steps to prevent the smog from impacting the citizens.
The resolution text reads, “Citizens may face various diseases due to increasing in smog and Punjab government should take emergency measures to prevent air pollution and smog.”
Moreover, the atmosphere in Lahore is extremely harmful to health, and Lahore—once called a city of gardens—is now ranked second-worst in terms of the air quality index.
The number of polluted particles recorded in the city on Monday is 231 while smog becoming a cause of eyes, throat, and bladder diseases.
People in Lahore also face difficulty in breathing due to smog.
Pertinent to note that smog Lahore, Pakistan’s second-largest city, has now been again started engulfed with smog.
Stubble burning is one of the major sources of acrid smog.
