This week marked a significant milestone in the history of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as we celebrated its 10th anniversary in the heart of Beijing. As a participant from Pakistan, my journey into the world of the BRI has been eye-opening, and I can't help but share my remarkable experience.
The Media Centre, our hub for the event, proved to be nothing short of spectacular. It was equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a studio, press conference hall, and interview rooms, creating a seamless environment for journalists to cover the forum comprehensively. What particularly stood out to me was the inclusion of cultural stalls, where we could immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of Chinese culture. This thoughtful touch offered a window into the traditions, art, and heritage of this diverse nation.
However, what truly left a lasting impression on me was the extraordinary support provided to the media contingent by the Chinese government. It was evident that they had gone to great lengths to ensure our comfort and efficiency during the event. This extended far beyond the cutting-edge facilities – it encompassed every detail, right down to providing a quiet space for journalists to reflect and write their stories.
As a Muslim visitor, I was touched by the respect and consideration shown by our Chinese hosts. In a world where diversity is celebrated, the arrangement of separate prayer rooms for both male and female attendees was a heartwarming gesture. It underscored the inclusivity and acceptance that the Chinese government seeks to foster, not only within the BRI but in its approach to international events as a whole.
The BRI Forum has not only showcased the progress and achievements of the Initiative over the past decade but has also been a testament to the hospitality and commitment of our Chinese hosts. It has been an opportunity for countries from different corners of the world to come together and discuss the path forward for shared development, economic prosperity, and cultural exchange.
The 10th Anniversary of BRI has reaffirmed the power of connectivity and cooperation. It has underlined the importance of dialogue in building bridges between nations. Most importantly, it has reinforced the values of inclusivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.I am filled with gratitude for this unforgettable experience. The BRI Forum has not only illuminated the accomplishments of the past ten years but has also shown the world that in a time of global interconnection, we can all unite under a common goal – the betterment of our collective future.
