An exclusive meeting of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari with the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the constitutional amendment ended without any resolution.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the late-night meeting aimed to discuss the proposed constitutional amendments, but, according to JUI-F sources, no progress was made in the negotiations.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar left Maulana Fazlur Rehman's residence in Islamabad.

Before this meeting, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) delegation had also met with JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to consult on the political situation and the 26th constitutional amendment issue.

The PTI delegation included Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, Omar Ayub, Salman Akram Raja, and Hamid Raza, while the JUI-F team was led by Abdul Ghafoor Haidery, Maulana Atta ur Rehman, and Kamran Murtaza.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman returned to his Islamabad residence from Lahore ahead of these meetings. The JUI chief has already rejected the amendments proposed by the government, especially the issue of the establishment of a constitutional court.
