The Karachi administration has imposed Section 144 in the city for two days, prohibiting gatherings and rallies, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Friday.
According to an official notification, the ban will be in effect on October 18 and 19, restricting gatherings of five or more people, processions, and public meetings to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
This move follows a similar decision by the Punjab government, which also enforced Section 144 across the province for two days, starting from Friday, October 18.
The Punjab Home Department's notification stated that all protests, processions, and public activities are banned during this period due to security concerns.
This decision was made by the Karachi and Punjab administrations following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) call for protest demonstrations for the release of its founder, Imran Khan, at district level across the country today after Jumma prayer.
