Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan held the third telethon to raise funds for flood-hit people in Pakistan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

Addressing the telethon, he said the party will use the donation transparently under a proper plan. He took a jibe at the coalition government for not accepting his demand for snap polls in the country.

He said he fear that the chief election commissioner could declare funds collected for flood victims as foreign funding and claimed that the chief election commissioner will be panicked after witnessing massive funding to PTI from local and foreign sources

The PTI chairman chided Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for being on foreign tours at this critical time.

The official Twitter account of the party has announced that it has so far received pledges of Rs3.57 billion from the donors during the telethon.

The PTI chief said that they are collecting donations for flood-affected people of the country and urged people to donate as much as they can for their brethren in need.

According to PTI, more than Rs10 billion were collected in the first two telethons.

The PTI leadership said it had extra phone lines so that maximum people can call and donate to affected people.

In the second telethon last Sunday, the PTI claimed to have collected Rs5 billion for flood-affected people.
