Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Saleem Mandviwalla on Sunday rejected the news that a corruption reference against him had been returned, and he stated that he had never been an accused in any such reference, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“There are reports that a corruption reference against me has been returned. I have never been accused of corruption, and no corruption reference has ever been filed against me,” Saleem Mandviwalla said.
“When the corruption reference was never filed, how can it be returned?” he pointed out.
“The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had made a false Kidney Hills reference against me for political engineering. In that reference, there was a matter of allotment, not corruption,” he clarified.
“In the Kidney Hills reference, false and baseless allegations were levelled not of corruption but of allotment,” he maintained.
“The NAB had pressurised me by filing an allotment case at that time for political engineering. It is evident to everyone that we kept appearing in the courts, but the NAB could not prove anything,” he stated.
