IHC issues notice to FIA on Imran Khan’s bail application in cipher case

On the post-arrest bail application filed by former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the cipher case, the Islamabad High Court has issued a notice to the Federal Investigation Agency seeking a reply, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice, Justice Aamer Farooq on Monday conducted the proceedings on the case.

Barrister Salman Safdar appeared in the court on behalf of the PTI chairman.

Replying to a repeated request by the PTI lawyers to fix the date for the case hearing, the chief justice remarked that there was a set procedure and their petition would be fixed for hearing by next Monday accordingly.

Issuing notice to the FIA, the court sought a reply from the agency till the next hearing.

The Special Court set up to try cases registered under the Official Secrets Act had rejected the former prime minister’s bail application in the cipher case after which he resorted to the Islamabad High Court.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan is in Attock Jail on judicial remand till September 26.

The Special Court has sought the case challan from the FIA.
