The Lebanese government and Iran have accused Israel of being responsible for recent cyber attacks, claiming that Israel authorized pager attacks targeting Hezbollah leaders.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Iran has labelled these attacks as an act of terrorism by Israel.

The explosions resulted in the deaths of 11 people, including the son of a Lebanese minister, and left around 4,000 injured. Security experts suggest that explosive devices were installed in the pagers before they reached Lebanon. Pagers operate on radio frequencies, which can be remotely controlled.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed gratitude to Lebanese authorities for providing medical aid to the Iranian ambassador and extended condolences to the families of the victims.

According to foreign media reports, Lebanon purchased these pagers a few months ago from Taiwan. They were tampered with before reaching Hezbollah. The pagers were being used by the Lebanese group Hezbollah and healthcare workers, including doctors.

Russian media claim that the purpose of these pager attacks was to escalate operations to a new level.
