The authorities took just a few hours to repair the four domes of the Kartarpura Sahib Gurdawara which collapsed on Saturday night due to a thunderstorm and very powerful winds.
The Indian media was highlighting the crumbling of the domes at the Kartarpura Gurdwara but the Pakistani officials showed them the mirror when it came to taking caring of the minorities in their respective countries.
This incident happened due to the extremely bad weather but the structure was restored within a matter of hours.
The Indian government and media must look at themselves as to how they are treating their minorities. The demolition of Babri Masjid and many more such incidents have happened in India. The most recent was the massacre of Muslim in New Delhi and now blaming the Muslims for the spread of coronavirus in India. On the pretext of it, the ruling BJP fanatics are targeting poor Muslim vendors. It is a result of just extreme hatred of which there is no possible restoration.
The festering scars that such racist and extremist incidents are leaving on Indian social landscape will eventually become the borders of many new nation-states within India.
The thunderstorm coupled with heavy winds hit both Pakistan and India on Saturday night but the Indian media failed to report what damage it caused on their side of the border.
An immediate inquiry into the collapse of the domes will be conducted, confirmed Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry. "The matter has been addressed before the Religious Affairs Minister Noorul Haq Qadri with a request for an inquiry," said Fawad.
In view of the coronavirus outbreak, the Kartarpur Corridor had been closed so there was no question of any member of the Sikh community getting hurt in the incident.
The decision to close the corridor in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak was a temporary precautionary measure aimed at checking the spread of the deadly disease.
