The Supreme Court of Pakistan has termed the news regarding non-conduct of its audit as baseless and misleading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The apex court has rejected the news according to which no audit of the top court has been conducted for the last 10 years.
Terming the no audit report baseless and misleading, the SC spokesperson on Wednesday clarified that the audit of the Supreme Court has been completed till June 2021.
He further said that the process of SC audit of 2021-22 is underway and the same can be confirmed from the auditor general of Pakistan.
He said that the information provided to the Public Accounts Committee are not based on facts.
24News HD reported yesterday that the PAC summoned the Supreme Court (SC) registrar over no audit of the court for the last 10 years.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal also attended the PAC meeting.
PAC Chairman Noor Alam Khan said that the committee had sought details from the CDA about the plots obtained by judges, parliamentarians, cabinet members and the National Assembly and Senate staff. He admonished the CDA chairman for not submitting the details.
“The PAC had also sought the list of the apartment owners at One Constitution Avenue and their money trail. Tell us who were the bureaucrats, judges, generals and politicians that bought apartments at One Constitution Avenue,” he added.
“Also find out from where they got the money to buy the apartments,” he directed.
