The Ministry of Finance has released the Fiscal Operation Report (FOR) for the financial year 2021-22, reported 24 News HD TV Channel Friday.
The report said that the budget deficit during the financial year 2021-22 was Rs5,260 billion while the budget deficit during the financial year 2019-20 was Rs3,403 billion.
The budget deficit was 7.9 per cent of the GDP in the financial year 2021-22, the report said.
In the financial year 2021-22, the total expenditure was Rs13,295 billion.
Last fiscal year, the total income was more than Rs8,000 billion, in which tax income was Rs6,755 billion and non-tax revenue was Rs1,280 billion.
The report further said that in the last financial year, payments in the form of interest were Rs3,182 billion.
