The federal government has given an extension in the tenure of the incumbent executive director of World Bank Naveed Kamran Baloch for one more year as it has cancelled the notification of the former prime minister’s principal secretary’s appointment as executive director of the Bank, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to sources, the federal government has given a one-year extension in the tenure of the current executive director of World Bank Kamran Baloch while cancelling the notification of the appointment of Azam Khan – the principal secretary of former prime minister Imran Khan - for the same post.
Azam Khan took the office of the WB executive director on Oct 31, 2022.
He got himself appointed as the executive director of the WB for a term of four years on Feb 21, 2022 and a notification was issued in this regard.
