The Naushahro Feroze district and sessions court allowed the exhumation of the body of Fatima, a 10-year-old housemaid who died due to torture in the haveli of a Pir in Khairpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The district and sessions judge appointed a Kandiaro civil judge as magistrate under whose supervision the body of Fatima will be exhumed tomorrow.

The director general (health) has formed a medical board for the exhumation of Fatima’s body.

The medical superintendent of Nawabshah Hospital will be the chairman of the medical board.

Forensic specialists, professors of pathology and senior medical officers of the hospital will be the members of the medical board.

The medical board was formed by Director General (Health) Dr Irshad Memon at the request of the Sobho Dero magistrate.

Police will be deployed at the grave of Fatima in Khanwahan during the exhumation, and they will remain deployed until the post-mortem is done according to the court orders.

Meanwhile, a forensic team also arrived in Ranipur to collect evidence from the haveli where Fatima died due to the torture of Pir.

“We feared that the body of our daughter would be stolen from the grave,” the mother of Fatima told 24NewsHD TV channel.

“On being informed, the police set up a picket there. There are other girls too imprisoned in the haveli of Syed Fayaz Shah, father-in-law of main accused Asad Shah,” she said.

“Other girls, who are in the prison of the accused, should be rescued immediately,” she demanded the authorities.
