The current account has turned into a deficit after 4 consecutive months of remaining surplus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), a Current Account deficit of $809 million was recorded in July 2023 despite the fact that the Current Account was surplus in June 2023 with $504 million.
SBP data revealed that the trade deficit increased by 99 per cent to $2.10 billion in July 2023 while the trade deficit was $1.05 billion in June 2023 and exports remained at $2.11 billion compared to June 23, exports increased by 33 per cent to $4.22 billion.
