Illegal sale of petroleum products is on the rise in the streets of Wazirabad as dozens of citizens have opened mini petrol pumps in the rooms of their houses, endangering the lives of residents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
People stocked about 1,000 to 2,000 litres of petrol inside their houses and are selling it by installing filling machines.
Wazirabad Civil Defence and other administration agencies have not so far taken any action against these illegal filling stations despite numerous complaints; perhaps they were waiting for an incident to happen, which will then be too late.
The complainants fear that any untoward incident due to these petrol pumps may cause loss of lives and property.
However, the concerned authorities ensured the citizens that they will take an action against such illegal mini filling stations and will not allow anyone to take the law into their hands.
