American supermodel and actress Kate Upton had no clue what she was getting herself into falling in love with a baseball player.
The supermodel, who is married to Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander, made an appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast recently where she opened up about being the wife of a baseball star.
“Being a baseball wife is absolutely insane, like this schedule is wild, it’s so long. I didn’t know,” Upton, 32, said. “I accidentally fell in love. I had no idea that there were this many games.”
Houston Astros’ spring training begins in February, and the 162-game regular season lasts six months, from late March until late September or early October. The post-season then takes about another month.
“No consecutive offdays, only Mondays and Thursdays,” Upton said, jokingly describing the two offdays as her favourite.
“I’m like I don’t see him, especially when you start getting into late playoffs when the baseball is so exciting, but you’re like, ‘I haven’t seen my husband in months, like they better win.’”
