Hiba Fawad, the wife of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, has launched an election campaign on her ‘husband’s request’, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
“I have started the election campaign on the request of Fawad Chaudhry,” she said, adding that attempts have been made to stop her from holding a press conference.
“My in-laws are trying to stop me from electioneering. Fawad’s brothers blocked me from entering the Press Club,” she said.
The nomination papers of Fawad Chaudhry will be submitted as an independent candidate, she said, questioning if the law refrains a woman from electioneering.
“We are with the institutions. We always respect the institutions,” she maintained. The public woke up, she stressed, urging the people to exercise their right to vote wisely.
