Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has staged protest in National Assembly over the absence of federal ministers after parliamentary secretaries fail to satisfy lawmakers during question session, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the session, which started under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Syed Mir Ghulam Mustafa Shah on Thursday, PPP parliamentary leader MNA Naveed Qamar expressed dissatisfaction with the response of the parliamentary secretaries and the absence of ministers.
PPP leader said that it seemed government had given federal ministers free hand and they do not need to come in the house, moreover, parliamentary secretaries were not being properly briefed. Speaker told PPP leader that letter was being written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his concerned were being shared with the PM.
PPP leader Naveed Qamar talking about PIA privatization said there was an attempt to privatize PIA once again and earlier such talks had failed. He questioned that government was privatizing PIA again. Is there a time frame? Have you thought how to improve the process?. Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar told the House said that it is good news that “our routes to Europe have been restored, now it is considered that the bids for PIA will be better”.
During the question session, PPP MNA Sharmila Farooq said that there was a shortfall of 60 billion rupees in the Higher Education Commission budget.
MNA Rai Hassan said that during PTI government huge work was done for launching of unified syllabus country wide. Education Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar said though education is a provincial matter but federal government was working on it. She claimed a lot of work has been done for it, she admitted that it is very important to have the same syllabus.
Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Zulfiqar Bhatti said that the government has achieved 13 percent growth in exports, we have started formulating e-commerce policy again and digital technology was being used in it.
