Kashmore police on Friday arrested the primary accused in the Mehar triple murder case, which took place on January 17, 2018.
Murder suspect Murtaza Chandio and his accomplices had allegedly raided the house of their political rivals and gunned down Baldai Union Council former chairman Rais Karamullah Chandio and his sons Qabil Chandio, former member of the district council, and Mukhtiar Chandio, former chairman of the Tamandar Union Council, three years ago.
Police had announced a Rs1 million reward for anyone who would provide the law enforcement information about Murtaza’s whereabouts.
Umme Rubab, granddaughter of Rais Karamullah Chandio, is now pursuing the triple murder case of her grandfather, father and uncle in the court of law.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken suo motu notice of the triple murder and sought a report on the incident in this case.
