The federal cabinet Saturday approved a summary of a 5-year sentence for criticizing the Pakistan army, judiciary and other state institutes on electronic media.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the federal government has decided to amend the Electronic Crimes Prevention Act.
For the purpose, the federal cabinet has approved the amendments in the Electronic Crimes Prevention Act through an ordinance.
The ordinance will come into force after the approval of President Arif Alvi, the sources said adding that critics of the institutions have been sentenced to up to five years in prison.
