FIA team, Mohsin Baig record statement in front of magistrate

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team, while recording its statement, has alleged that Mohsin Baig took the FIA team hostage and tortured and attacked them along with their accomplices to avoid arrest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

After the alleged torture of Mohsin Baig, the inquiry team produced various evidence including the medical report.

FIA officials said the police recovered them from Mohsin Baig and his accomplices.

Police officials said that FIA sub-inspector was injured when they reached Mohsin Baig's house.

As per police officials, they arrived at the scene to help after the news of the attack on FIA.

The inquiry team also recorded the statement of Mohsin Baig. According to sources, Mohsin Baig said: “Unknown persons entered my house at 9:30 am on February 16 and I was asleep when my I woke up to the noise of wife and children.” There were the FIA officials, he added.

Mohsin Baig told the inquiry team that the FIA officials said that they had come to arrest him. The FIA officials did not have a warrant which led to a quarrel, he added.

Mohsin Baig further said in his statement that the self-proclaimed FIA personnel entered the house by climbing over the walls.

“I was being threatened a few days ago and I called the ‘15’ and told that the robbers had entered my house,” he further said.

Baig in his statement said that he also told the SSP that if they have warrants, they should be ready to accompany him. “SSP took me to the room of Margalla police station SHO and I was beaten there by seven FIA officers”, he added.

He continued “My nose bone and two ribs were damaged as a result of the torture and my eyes started to bleed. The police kept making rounds of PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals for my medical till 2 am, he added.

Inquiry Team recorded all the statements while also visited the police station and reviewed the records. A report on the torture of Mohsin Baig was compiled on the orders of Chief Justice Athar Minallah, sources said.
