Islamabad High Court’s Justice Babar Sattar has expressed anger over absence of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director generals during a hearing on a petition against the audio leaks of ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar’s son and former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Moreover, Chairman PTI Imran Khan and Chairman Pemra also failed to appear despite court’s orders.

During proceedings on Monday, Justice Babar Sattar remarked “Why should the court not issue arrest warrants for these officers? How did these officers decide by themselves that they cannot appear in court?”

The government’s counsel told the court that DG FIA was sick and could not appear in the court while Deputy DG appeared in place of Intelligence Bureau director general.

Justice Babar Sattar further ordered that officers who were sick should submit their medical reports at the next hearing.

Director Waqaruddin Syed appeared in court on behalf of DG FIA. While Asif Bashir Ch appeared in court on behalf of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till the first week of March.
