A civil court of Rawalpindi on Thursday acquitted former premier Mian Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law Captian (Retired) Safdar Awan in two cases.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Civil Judge Imran Akram delivered the reserved judgment and ordered the acquittal of Captain Safdar in the cases on Thursday.
Rawalpindi city police had registered two cases against Captian (R) Safdar for taking out rallies against the arrests of his party, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leadership in 2018.
Captain (R) Safdar had filed an acquittal plea under Section 249/A of the Pakistan Penal Code in the last two cases.
The court had reserved the decision after the final arguments on the acquittal plea of the lawyer appearing on behalf of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Captain (R) Safdar along with the local leadership had already been acquitted in the New Town cases registered at Waris Khan Police Station in Rawalpindi.
