The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued show-cause notices to Serene Air and Air Blue for flight delays and violation of passenger rights, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the text of the show-cause notices, long flight delays and multiple cancellations affected a large number of passengers.
Notices were issued to Serene Air and Air Blue on January 2 and January 15 respectively.
Air Blue and Serene Air continuously failed to conduct their respective flight operations in a timely and regular manner.
Both the operators ignored the recognized regulatory rules which created significant difficulties for the passengers.
Air Blue and Serene Air may face measures such as financial penalties, licence suspension or revocation.
Measures like reducing the number of scheduled flights can also be implemented.
Both the operators were asked to submit their respective responses within seven days.
