Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub Khan said on Sunday the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has given him the task to contact all opposition political parties and convene their meeting.

Speaking to the media at the Haripur Press Club, Omar Ayub Khan said the PTI has a one-point agenda and that is supremacy of the constitution. He said that Pakistan’s economic situation was extremely bad. He said that he told Imran Khan in Adiala Jail that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is a brave man. He said that a huge contingent of Rangers personnel was deployed on November 27. He said that gunfire was opened at PTI people’s vehicles.

Commenting on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s performance, Omar said it was delivering. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the only province, which was in surplus. He however said the federal government was not giving funds to the province, which was now facing shortage of resources.

Omar Ayub said he would salute the visionary leadership of Imran Khan who formed a negotiations committee for talks with the government. He said the committee put forth just two demands: release all party workers and form a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 and Nov 26 incidents. He said the PTI has conveyed this to the government that they are holding talks for the sake of Pakistan and these talks would not move forward if the two aforementioned demands are not met.
