Three people died on the spot while two received critical injuries when a bus of a private company collided with a trawler on Burewala Road, Chichawatni, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
Sources said that all the dead persons were labourers and going to Burewala Road for shuttering.
The dead labourers were later identified as Mohammad Farooq, Zahid, and Iqr Tasmeer, while the injured persons are Allah Rakha and Imran.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, the Rescue 1122 team reached the site and shifted the dead and injured persons to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ).
Later, the injured persons were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Sahiwal due to their critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the scene.
Saddar area police arrived at the accident site and started an investigation.
