It seems like the Ministry of Climate Change and private organization World Wide Fund is in a hurry to relocate the animals from Islamabad Zoo to a safer place. A rare deer was injured during the shifting of animals from the zoo as per the Islamabad High Court orders, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The rare animals were injured due to alleged negligence of the staff during the transfer, the TV channel reported. The injured deer was now shifted to a small zoo on Faisal Avenue.
The Islamabad Zoo Administration said during the transfer of the animals the male deer went berserk and a female deer was also injured in a collision with a male deer. Later the deer was transferred to F8 Enclosure Islamabad after treatment, the zoo administration said.
Sources claimed earlier a few small animals died during the transferring of the animals.
Earlier on Saturday, Islamabad High Court (IHC) hearing a case on the implementation of the transfer of animals from Marghazar Zoo to a safer place said Pakistan government has accepted this court’s decision keeping in view the tradition of upholding the animal rights.
Federal Environment Ministry officials told the court that shipping arrangements are being made for the transfer of Kavaan, the elephant, to Cambodia.
