In a statement on Sunday, the Afghan foreign ministry said that following the 'abduction' of Silsila, Kabul called back ambassador and senior diplomats from Islamabad until all 'security threats' are addressed including the arrest and trial of the perpetrators.
Earlier in a telephonic conversation, the Pak foreign minister assured his Afghan counterpart of nailing the persons involved in the crime at the earliest.
Qureshi apprised his Afghan counterpart of the actions taken so far by the lawmen and stepped up security of the Afghan embassy and consulate.
The Afghan foreign minister thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for taking personal interest in the investigation and praised Qureshi's efforts for stepping up security of the Afghan diplomats.
Reportedly, Silsila was returning home from a market when she was kidnapped, tortured and abandoned on Friday. Taking notice of the incident, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday ordered officials concerned to put the accused kidnappers behind the bars within 48 hours.
