In response to Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi's strict action, the construction and finishing work on the Samanabad project has resumed, signaling a significant development for the long-awaited infrastructure project.
The authorities have now shifted their focus to the crucial phase of asphalt carpeting for the underpass, and preparations for this stage are already underway.
According to the project director, the team is committed to completing the barrel of the underpass by July 31st, with steady progress being made. The current focus is on laying the foundation and installing curve stones, which will contribute to the structural stability of the project. In parallel, the asphalt work has commenced in the direction of Gulshan Ravi, while the finishing touches on the walls are also in progress.
The project had experienced delays due to inclement weather, including heavy rainfall, as well as the coordination required for the transfer of services. However, the project director assured that efforts are being made to compensate for lost time. Mohammad Asad, a representative involved in the project, expressed optimism that the accelerated pace of work will be maintained, provided there are no further interruptions from adverse weather conditions.
The project team is determined to meet the target completion date of July 31st, as announced by the project director. On this date, the barrel of the underpass will be opened, allowing for the smooth flow of traffic and alleviating congestion in the area. This significant milestone will mark the culmination of extensive planning and construction efforts, benefiting the local community and enhancing transportation infrastructure.
