Former federal minister Gohar Ejaz has been elected as the leader of the business community across Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and chambers nationwide unanimously chose Ejaz for this role.

SM Tanveer, the patron-in-chief of the United Business Group, officially appointed Ejaz as the business leader. Ejaz has vowed to address the issues facing the business community, with a particular focus on the high cost of electricity.

"Expensive electricity is a major problem for the business community," Ejaz stated, emphasizing that the country's economy cannot be sustained without reducing electricity prices.
