A belligerent Maryam Nawaz came out gunning for the Supreme Court justices by blasting the reserved seats verdict, declaring “Verdicts should be made in accordance with the law and the Constitution and not as per your conscience,” reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore on Friday to mark the upgradation of Township Model Bazaar, Punjab Chief Minister Nawaz declared that the Constitution is being rewritten to give relief to a national criminal. “I am astonished at the Supreme Court’s decision in which such a relief was provided which was not even sought. Earlier, Justice Umar Atta Bandial rewrote the constitution," Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam blamed the SC judges of rewriting the constitution to bring back one person to the politics. “Who are those (people) who do not like the country making progress and rewrite the Constitution,” she wondered.

“Courts are bailing those who attacked the national installations. Let this country run smoothly,” Maryam Nawaz urged the apex court, adding this government will complete its term and those who will craft instability will be dealt with an iron hand. "“We will not let this be a cakewalk for you."

The chief minister said they would not be on their seats forever but as long as they were they would continue to serve the masses.

Maryam condemned the court’s directive for individuals to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) within 15 days, arguing that it granted requests that were not even made.

The CM maintained that the government working to stabilize the country should be allowed to continue its efforts and called on the public to remain vigilant against further disruptions.

The PML-N leader said a group of few people gave such orders which halted the process of development. She also said that the law and Constitution did not allow floor crossing, while the “SC judge’s ruling said, you can commit floor crossing”.

Maryam acknowledged the challenge of reversing rising inflation and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his tough decisions in addressing the economic crisis.

She pointed out that the government inherited a declining economy rather than a thriving one and vowed to take all necessary measures to improve the situation.

Model bazaars

Announcing a major initiative, Maryam highlighted that Punjab is set to launch Pakistan's largest solar project, which will provide free solar power to households consuming up to 200 units of electricity. She assured the nation of her administration's commitment to diligently serving the country throughout their term.

Talking about the model bazaars, Maryam said these bazaars are being run very well and these model bazaars will be established in all the cities of Punjab soon.

Maryam Nawaz said most her day is consumed by efforts for reduction in prices of flour, vegetables and other products.

Bringing down inflation is a hard nut to crack but ever since the PML-N government came into power the prices have come down, Maryam said. “I have never heard that a roti of Rs25 has come down to Rs13.”

Maryam said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had to make some difficult decisions.

Due to the carelessness of some people, the country is facing the current situation, Maryam said, adding “We did not get a developing Pakistan rather we got Pakistan mired in crises after 2018.”

Solar system will be given to users of 200 units of electricity and people will get rid of expensive electricity, Maryam said.
