The historical Jain Mandar of Lahore has been reopened for the religious rites of the followers of Jainism after the completion of its reconstruction on Sunday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has completed the work of restoration of the Jain Temple on the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The height of the reconstructed Jain Mandar is kept up to 13 meters which is smaller than the original building of it which was built in 1930 to perform the religious rites of the followers of Jainism.
In 1992, the Jain Mandar was demolished by some emotional people in reaction to the tragic incident of the Babri Masjid in India.
It is worth mentioning that Jainism and Hinduism are two different ancient Indian religions. In fact, the temples, gods, rituals, fasts and other religious components of Jainism are very different from Hinduism.
