PML-N Vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Thursday broke her months-long silence on Twitter, saying that Pakistan was facing one of gravest crises in its recent memory as the coronavirus spread posed a serious threat that should be fought at all levels.

She said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was praying for his “beloved nation”, as he had asked her to convey the message directly to the people of Pakistan.

In a series of tweets, Maryam urged everyone to take precautionary measures, follow the medical guidelines and pray to Allah.

She also extended her heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have succumbed to the pandemic and earnest prayers for early recovery of the affected.

It is worth noting that Maryam has been facing severe criticism even by the die-hard supports of Nawaz over her silence after she was released from prison.

On the other hand, the opponents were claiming that it was a result of a “deal”.
