Sindh Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh in yet another case on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The latest charge on which he was arrested is that he had attacked a polling station in Ghotki in 2019.
According to the contents of the First Information Report (FIR) registered against the PTI leader, Haleem and his co-workers resorted to hooliganism and interfered in official duty.
The PTI leader is currently admitted to Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital.
The Karachi police had, on February 16, arrested and then expelled Haleem Adil Sheikh from Malir for violating code of conduct during voting for the by-election.
The Malir police detained Haleem Adil Sheikh on the orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan, which said Haleem had visited polling stations, exchanged hot words with police and refused to leave the Malir constituency. Later, the Election Commission ordered the police to expel Haleem from the Malir constituency. He was taken to SSP Malir Buhadar Khan's office first and then was expelled from the area. The police also arrested four of his armed security guards.
