As political temperature in the country is rising in the wake of the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government and more and more ruling party MNAs have started switching their loyalties, it appears the PTI workers, too, have made up their mind to give a tough time to their party’s renegades, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In one such incident, some PTI workers, who were livid that their MNA Ahmed Hussain Dehar had defected to the joint opposition, burnt his effigy in Multan and shouted slogans.
Seeing this, MNA’s guards, carrying sticks in their hands, came eyeball to eyeball with the protesters. They also took control of Dehar’s outhouse in order to prevent the workers’ entry into its premises.
However, despite increase in tensions, the police failed to take any action.
Asif Nazar Dehar, cousin of the MNA Dehar, told the media that following threat by the workers that they would storm the outhouse, they had to carry sticks in their hands.
He warned the protesters that there would be a tit-for-tat response if they attempted to enter the outhouse.
“Ahmed Hussain Dehar has decided to part ways with the government only for the sake of people of his constituency. He has responded to his conscience,” he claimed.
