Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has started conducting raids to monitor the free flour supply to the people of the province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Punjab government has announced a special package worth of Rs 53 billion prepared to provide free flour (Atta) to the poor during the holy month of Ramazan, a first-of-its-kind scheme aimed at facilitating the poor and providing them a big relief.
The Chief Minister on Sunday made a surprise visit to the centre set up at Model Town School Lahore by the district government to get first-hand information.
On the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi himself invited the men and women present in the center regarding the supply of free flour. He also asked the citizens about the problems being faced by the people for getting free flour.
The Chief Minister also gave instructions to the Deputy Commissioner on the spot to resolve the complaints of the citizens regarding the supply of free flour. “The problems faced by the citizens in providing free flour should be solved immediately,” Naqvi added.
With the confirmation of the citizens, the process of providing flour should be completed in the shortest possible time, Mohsin Naqvi directed the officials. He added that there should not be long queues.
“All processes should be completed quickly.”
Mohsin Naqvi said this is a noble cause in which failure will not be tolerated.
