Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review progress made so far on action taken against the miscreants involved in violence witnessed on May 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting decided to send an official reference against a judge for facilitating the miscreants.

It was also decided to challenge courts’ verdicts which appear to be soft on those who carried out attacks on sensitive installations on that day.

It was agreed that any leniency towards those nominated in incidents of violence would amount to a murder of justice.

The meeting also decided to send a team, led by Lahore division commissioner, to Zaman Park today to hold negotiations for the handover of persons allegedly involved in May9 violence and allegedly hiding at Zaman Park, the residence of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The chief minister ordered vigorously pursuing cases registered against lawless elements.

He directed the concerned commissioners as well as RPOs to hold meetings to review progress on prosecution on a daily basis.

At the same time, he ordered to ensure arrests of persons still at large after May 9 violence as soon as possible.

CM Naqvi was of the view that those who had attacked military installations deserved no mercy.

He went on to say that May 9 would be remembered as a Black Day.

He was of the view that the incidents of vandalism and arson witnessed on that day were preplanned.

The chief minister was briefed that so far 268 calls of PTI workers and supporters had been traced which they had made to the party’s high command through geo fencing and human intelligence.
