A resolution was passed in Sindh Assembly on Friday, condemning talks initiated by the government with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It is pertinent to mention here that much to the dismay of left-wing parties like the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Prime Minister Imran Khan had disclosed in one of his interviews that the government was in talks with the militants of TTP.
Later, when the opposition lawmakers, particularly of the PPP, questioned as to on what terms and conditions negotiations were being held with an outfit that had claimed the lives of over 70, 000 Pakistan Army personnel as well as civilians, it was told that only those elements of the Taliban had been approached who were willing to lay down their arms and accept the writ of the state.
