Senator Hidayatullah escapes narrowly in firing incident

Senator Hidayatullah Khan and his colleagues Saturday escaped unhurt from an assassination attempt when their rival group opened fire on them during a jirga, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

 According to details, Senator Hidayatullah Khan of FATA had an old property dispute with a party.  

On Saturday, there was a Jirga on the land dispute between the two parties going on. All of sudden, the opponent party opened fire on them with automatic weapons. However, jirga members and senator Hidayatullah Khan who is a younger brother of KP former governor Engineer Shaukatullah Khan luckily remained unhurt. No casualties were reported in the firing. 

Reacting to the sad incident, the locals staged a protest demonstration and blocked the main road of the Nawagai area of the Bajaur Agency. 

According to senator Hidayatullah, there were 15 people who opened fire, and the district administration should take immediate action and arrest the accused. 

He was elected as an independent on the FATA seat and is the brother of former Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Shaukatullah Khan.
