Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday announced the establishment of the first-ever cancer hospital in the province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.  

He declared this decision while visiting Indus Hospital Jubilee Town Lahore today.

Prominent figures such as the founders of Indus Hospital, including Member Iqbal Ahmed Qureshi, Mian Muhammad Ahsan, Javed Arshad Bhatti, SM Parvez, and Anwar Ahmed Khan were present on the occasion.

According to plans, the newly established cancer hospital will be transferred to the Punjab government, with administrative affairs managed by the Indus Foundation.

The hospital aims to provide comprehensive cancer treatment facilities for the general public.

Expressing his satisfaction with the quality of Indus Hospital, the CM Mohsin Naqvi stated, "The standard of Indus Hospital is heartening. Hospitals of such global standards are rare in Pakistan."

He commended the founders, saying, "Those who build hospitals for the people are, in fact, earning paradise. May Allah reward them." The hospital is constructed with passion and love resembling a home.

Addressing the financial aspect, CM Naqvi stated, "The expenditure on Indus Hospital is 8 billion rupees annually as a general hospital, and with the establishment of the cancer hospital, it will rise to 16 billion rupees per year."

Highlighting the significance of the cancer hospital, CM Naqvi emphasized that cancer patients will be provided with free treatment, alleviating the financial burden on them.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the collaboration with Indus Hospital and announced the initiation of the transfer process to make the cancer hospital operational within two days.

The hospital will follow the model of Tayyab Erdogan Trust Hospital.

 During the detailed tour, CM Naqvi examined various wards, medical facilities, and machinery. He appreciated the standard of medical services offered to patients and acknowledged the efforts of the medical team.

The event was attended by provincial ministers Aamer Mehmood, Azfar Ali Nasir, Chief Secretary, Secretary C&W, Secretary Health, Commissioner Lahore Division, CCPO, Deputy Commissioner, DIG Operations, and other relevant authorities.
